….and now it’s happening. If you see “snow” instead of programming on KQET, that’s because KQET has made the switch from analog to digital broadcasting.
You can still get the signal free of charge, though, you just need an analog-to-digital converter box to interpret the digital signal from your antenna to your TV. Cick here for more information on how to get a converter box free.
If you already have a converter box, you need to re-scan the box to pick up the new frequency.
Once you have the box installed, you’ll be able to see multiple program streams on the KQET frequency. KQET is on 25.1. On 25.2 you’ll see KTEH and V-me, the Spanish-language public broadcasting channel is on 25.3.
KTEH and KQED will broadcast both analog & digital signals until June 12th. After that, we’ll be broadcasting a digital signal only. You can learn more about digital tv here.

I have a digital TV and a digital over-the-air tuner. Up until a week ago I was able to receive your broadcast (digital, not analog). Suddenly, your signal is no longer coming through. Why is this? Thanks.

Hi PG,
You may need to rescan you digital converter box.
Here’s how:
Run the “scan” function on your converter box or digital television set. It’s usually on the remote control, labeled “set-up” or “menu.” Consult your owner’s manual if you need further assistance.
-Once the scan is complete, you should be getting digital channels through your existing antenna.
The FCC has a Web site set up so you can see which channels you should be receiving in your area. Here’s the link:
